Looks like a weekend full of rain for this weekends racing at Shenny.
Some time on slicks would be nice though ;-)

Rissington 3rd March. Arrived at Rissington for the days practice, I was unable to do the race day due to my birthday plans but the days racing was cancelled anyway due to snow :-(
Arrived at Rissy in bliss sunshine, so I started putting up my awning and half way through the wind got hold of it and blew it away and it ended up in someones caravan, not good. After a huge battle with the awning I managed to get the sides off and it on the ground but sadly its a complete wreck.
The weather was a bit crazy, lovely sunshine, gale like winds and rain.
As I wasn't racing the next day I was able to do the wholes days practice but didnt actually get on the track until about 12 so missed about 4 sessions.
Met up with Dave, Jess, Ryan and Les plus Colin was there too.
I managed 5 sessions I think, 1 of which was wet/damp and on slicks.
The other sessions were all bone dry and my god what a awesome track, I absolutly love this track to bits, not only is the track good but the whole layout is good, ie large dummy grid, completely seperate area at end of your session, a seperate trolley park and tons of room to pitch your awning.
I was also using my GoPro and had some fun trying all the different settings and had a go mounting it rearwards too.
I would say once this hectic year is over, ie kids, moving house, Olympics etc I will plan to do a whole seasons racing at Rissington and part with Shenny as in my mind Rissington has better facilities, Its a more involving track and has a better general layout.
As far as the rest of this season goes I've just checked my shifts and its a complete mess, its gonna be a abit of Shenny, abit of Rissy and some Kimbolton and maybe some missed rounds completely.
Im having so much fun trying the new tracks, getting back into racing and meeting some fantastic new people, its just been awesome.
I just really hope it can all continue and Im able to continue to fund it all.

Still recovering from what was an awesome days racing at Shenington on Sunday 19th Feb. In Heat 1 and the Final I had a terrific battle with Ryan Walters No24, although loosing out on both occassions It will close, clean fun racing.
My ribs are still hurting but they should be fixed quite quickly.
See race report page for Feb's meeting.
March is looking bleak for racing. I will be at Rissy on 3rd March for practice but wont be able to make the Sunday. The Shenny round on 18th is also very doubtful due to work and not getting any cover means I will have no choice but to drop this round. I have both April and May rounds clear though and hope to make both Practice and Race days. Im also hoping it will be warm enough to camp, in order to save some money plus nice social time. Im just trying to get the Mrs to bring the twins up to watch but they dont like the noise. Remedy I say is some headphones :-)

Will now be part of the Jade Kart Team, having the awning space right next to the pits and a helping hand with mean I can now attend the track on my own and dont have to worry about bringing someone along, plus its gonna be really nice just being part of the team.
Currenly moving house, so just waiting to exchange contracts ;-)
Here are a couple of vids from Shenington Round 1.

Trying to get everything prepared for Sunday, like charge up batteries, get fuel, and general get everything to the front of the garage ready to pack up on Saturday.
16/01/2012.
After waiting for numerous different nuts and bolts to arrive I have finally rebuilt my kart ready for Sunday's race at Shenington.
Im kinda guessing the gearing abit, Ive gone for a 78 rear tooth and after checking my used tyres which have been laying on the cold garage floor pumped up they seem to be rock hard. Hmmm, do I buy a new set?
My new awning :-)
Had a visit to Brooklands today and had a sit in this.

Decision time. My plan this year was to race a full club season but with doing shift work and my job being heavily involved in the Olympics this will be impossible. I will also miss the TKM Festival and watching the World Championships at Pfi, which is a great shame. So instead I will work towards getting my A Licence. I am therefore planning on doing 2 races at Shennington, 2 at Whilton Mill, 2 at Kimbolton and 1 or 2 at Rissington.
I will use this year as a guide as to which track I most enjoy racing at then make sure I can do a full season in 2013.
Im just not sure whether to do Shenny or Whilton in Jan.....
